The Community Crisis Line

The Community Crisis Line is staffed by Crisis Counselors 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to provide callers with crisis counseling assistance and information about community resources.

Callers experiencing any and all types of crisis may utilize the CCL. LLCF^s Crisis Counselors do not give directives or advice; rather, they work in concert with the caller to identify strategies that the caller may choose to implement to manage or resolve their crises.

LLCF also operates a number of "specialized hotlines" for callers struggling with issues such as grief or substance abuse. We also offer a hotline dedicated to meeting the crisis counseling and information needs of those who have lost a loved one to suicide.

Follow Up Calls

Follow up calls are made to hotline callers who have been assessed as being at risk for attempting suicide. LLCF counselors re-contact these callers within a few days of their initial call to stress our 24 hour availability and our on-going concern for their well-being.

Community Training

Through the Community Training service, LLCF is able to offer our insights and strategies for working with those in crisis to other area non-profits and for-profit businesses. Active Listening Skill Development and Suicide Assessment and Intervention are among the topics we provide training on.
